This helps settle the seed, allowing it to absorb water and germinate faster.
💧 Check the soil daily for the next 3-4 weeks.
Don’t skip a day! If the soil isn’t chocolate-colored, water it. If it rains, skip only that day.
💧 Evening watering is fine this time of year.
Since disease isn’t a concern right now, watering in the evening helps keep the soil moist longer.
💧 After 3-4 weeks, you can reduce watering—but don’t stop!
Cooler temperatures mean you can water less often, but the soil should still stay chocolate-colored.
Keep the soil "Chocolate" colored!
The soil should stay “chocolate” colored continually for the first 3 to 4 weeks.
Mowing & Lawn Care Tips
✂ Mow weekly! Mowing won’t harm your new grass—in fact, it helps strengthen it! Walk around your lawn to see which areas need more or less water and adjust accordingly. Just avoid heavy foot traffic or soccer tournaments on the new grass!
🍂 Keep leaves off your new grass!
Use a mower or blower as needed. Avoid raking, as it can pull up new grass.
🌱 New grass in unwanted places?
We do our best to keep seed where it belongs, but sometimes a few strays pop up in beds or walkways. Don’t worry! We’ll take care of any unwanted grass later.
🚫 DO NOT put down extra seed!
If more seed is needed, Classic Lawns will handle it at the right time! Store-bought seed won’t match the quality or color of our professional-grade seed and may contain weed seed. If you insist on adding seed, buy it from us—we sell it cheaper than the stores!
