I am a middle child. My wife would tell you that I am the poster child for all middle children. According to Wikipedia, Middle child syndrome is the belief that middle children are excluded, ignored or even outright neglected because of their birth order. Being in the middle is never fun. No one ever picks the middle seat on an airplane. Yet, when it comes to grass here we all are right in the middle.
In the above map you see what they call the Transition Zone or as I call it the Middle Child Zone. You go up north and they grow beautiful bluegrass and ryegrass lawns. You go down south and get green lawns like Zoysia, and St. Augustine even in ridiculous heat and dry weather. Here we are excluded, ignored and outright neglected when it comes to great grass! All that being said what I am saying that you are most likely going to need to seed your lawn. Yes we have to seed lawns around here often. It is part of being a middle child.
